Queenie and Lunar are super examples of heavy horses with a wealth of experience in both showing and public appearances, both are truly unique in their own way:
Queenie is a an 8 year old fully SHS registered mare who has spent several years showing in-hand. This year Queenie has turned her hoof to more ‘public services’ and has been part of a marriage proposal on Glastonbury Tor, a school prom, a funeral for a local shire breeder and photoshoot for a local leather bag crafter. Queenie was also involved in both inhand and ridden demonstrations at the Honiton Hill Rally 2025 and thrived on the attention and applause of the general public. Queenie is black with 3 white socks and 1 black leg, and is typical of the old fashioned shire ‘stamp’; short and stocky but with a calm demeanour and a soft, kind eye.
Lunar is a 9 year old Shire x Clydesdale with several years of showing and museum heritage ‘heavy horse’ days behind her. Lunar was involved in a marketing promotional video for a local cider producer and was involved in the Heavy Horse Village at the Honiton Hill Rally in 2024. Lunar loves to be the centre of attention and will stand all day long if rewarded with carrots! Lunar is bay with white socks and has an amazing presence about her; regal, stunning yet kind and knowing.
