Shadow is now comfortable with the mounting block and me hopping on and hopping off. We’ve slowly built up the amount of time he allows me to sit on his back by feeding him apples!! His journey from being unmanageable and terrified of everything to being approachable, and having not only a headcollar and bridle on but also a saddle and rider on board has been a positive and encouraging journey. Shadow’s confidence has grown and he’s no longer fearful of training. It was now time for Shadow’s owner to continue with his education now that I have turned his fears into genuine interest and his doubts into confidence. He is a self-assured, happy lad who knows that education can be fun, fear and apprehension is a natural reaction to anything new but that if he listens to his human those fears can be changed into positive actions moving forward.
